As you know, Destination Judo is always looking at ways to help different people in need - like our Peru Challenge which you can read about in our News and Charity News.

But now, Destination Judo is also wishing to help a Judo club in Bosnia simply by donating old Judo suits. Below is a letter sent from the chairman of ACORN AID to our very own Marc Preston, please take a moment to read and if you have any old complete Judo suits (jacket and trousers) that you wish to donate, please hand them to your child's coach.

"Dear Marc,
Thank you for taking the time to speak to me yesterday with regards Judo suits for Bosnia.
Since the Balkans conflict of the 90’s, Acorn Aid has delivered assistance to the Bosnian people in many forms; food, clothing, toiletries, firefighting and medical equipment. We mainly assist those who live in the North-West region of Bosnia, Bihac and surrounding areas.
Over the past two years our organisation has had contact with a Judo club based in Bihac. The club is called Judo Klub “UNA” Bihac and can be found on Facebook.
The instructors are very enthusiastic and are determined to help the local youths. There is a strong youth element in the club and they competed at the European Youth Championships in Salzberg.
The issue they have is that some parents are unable to afford the judo suits for their children, we donated some used suits in 2013 and the this made a massive difference. Youths who would never have been able to purchase their own suits were given a donated suit to start them off. The rules of the club are that when they do buy a suit or outgrow it, they are handed back so someone else can benefit.
As the club continues to grow and some suits are damaged beyond repair we are again asking for donations of used suits to assist the club.
If you can help in any way, we would be most grateful.
Yours,

Brian Miller
Chairman"
