Sarah’s Promise – Our Challenge

on Sun, 12/05/2013 - 09:21

Just over a year ago Destination Judo linked up with Sarah’s Promise, a small charity set up to help unwanted and disadvantaged children.

In the previous 2 years the charity had built an orphanage in India, a children’s home in Peru and was planning its newest venture - a centre in Tanzania for children affected by AIDS.  We committed to help Sarah’s Promise and set ourselves the ambitious challenge of raising £20,000.

It’s no surprise that our children and parents have more than risen to the challenge and have raised an astonishing £42,000.

This was generated via a combination of different events including a sponsored throw, a raffle and a charity dinner, where Kenmore Lodge Hotels in Perthshire made an very generous donation, helping us to smash our original target.

The money will be used to build an orphanage in Tanzania at the base of Kilimanjaro.

Thank you again for your generosity.

The continued support and the enthusiasm of all the people associated with Destination Judo is very humbling and restores a strong belief in human kindness.
