Marc Preston (6th Dan)

 

Marc Preston was the founder of Destination Judo, As a player Marc was a full time Judo competitor whose career ended prematurely through injury. He was one of Scotlands most successful judo players winning many international medals including Commonwealth Games and world cup. Marc is currently the vice chairman of judo Scotland, 

 

 

 

 

Callum Woods (2nd Dan)

 

Callum has been a judo player since the age of 6 and an active competitor for over a decade. He has been Scottish junior and senior champion and has gained medals in many major championships. Callum has 9 years experience of teaching judo to children both in this country and overseas. He is a fully qualified JudoScotland UKCC  level 2 coach. 

 

 

 

 

 

Colin Woods (2nd Dan)


Colin has been a Scottish internationalist and was in the squad for the Commonwealth games in Manchester. He has 12 years coaching experience and 10 years full-time teaching experience to children. Colin has his national coaching award and is aUKCC level 2 coach he also has his first aid certificate. Colin really enjoys teaching judo whether the kids want to be champions or just do it for fun he always tries to bring out the best in them.

 

 

 

Davie Reily (3rd Dan)

 

Davie is the head coach of Danderhall Judo club and has been for over 25 years, Still to this day he is the coach of our very own Colin and Callum he also helped coach marc as a child. Davie was coach of the year in Midlothian in 2008 after all his hard work with the children in the Danderhall judo club. He has coached players to Scottish and British championship medals and this is one of many reason that Destination Judo have Davie involved with there squad players.

 

 

 

          

 

Glynn James Fidgeon (1st Dan)

 

Glynn is the head coach of Destination Judo in the North of England and is working hard to promote the sport of judo in England. As a player Glynn had a very good competitive results winning medals in junior British and was North of England Champion 5x. Glynn still competes today fighting in the masters events in UK and is the currant British Master champion and Commonwealth Masters silver medalist.

 

 

 

Mark Poole (1st Dan)

 
                                                                                                                         
Mark started judo at the age of 5 and is a competitive person who has trained at numerous clubs around Scotland. In 2010 Mark was named junior coach of the year in tweeddle before graduating with honours from Glasgow Caledionia in sport and active lifestyle promotion. Mark enjoys his new position at Destination Judo and is looking forward to what is around the corner.
 
 
 
 
 
 

Danny Alessandro (1st Dan)

 

Danny started judo aged 8 after falling victim to childhood bullying,the decision to take up judo positively changed his life and created a platform for his future. its this mentality that has made Danny ever more determined to pass on his knowledge of judo into todays generation of kids. He has earned himself a position on the GB team 5X competing at a variety of national and international tournaments before winning gold at the National Championships to earn himself a place on the team GB Cadet European squad
